Sankofa Presentations
The grade-specific Sankofa presentations are bite-sized sessions filled with joy and fun facts. After the presentation, participants receive a sticker with the Black History Matters logo, and a book is donated to the teachers, thereby increasing diversity and inclusion. Students are asked to question, comment on, and connect with the material presented, and to see how it interconnects with the world around them. As students get older, the material becomes more challenging and thought-provoking. Students who experience the presentations year after year develop a deeper understanding of Black Canadian history, anti-Black racism, and what it means to live in a community that values Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.

Wawa Aba Program
This in-depth year round program boasts presentations and projects. It is designed for one Gr 5, Gr 5/6 or Gr 6 class and is an exciting way to learn about Black Canadian history. It includes fun challenges, choose-your-own-adventure presentations, and different projects that keep students interested. With a dedicated facilitator in the classroom, this program helps students connect directly with the material and offers more flexibility. It covers important topics from stamps to sports, giving students a deeper understanding of Black Canadian heritage and excellence.
